In their ignorance and hate, they try to argue that legislation designed to foster tolerance and combat homophobia is unfair and puts the rights of gays above the rights of the family. In California, ‘Gay Rights’ Now Superior to Everyone Else’s Rights
Schwarzenegger signs Democrats’ homosexual-bisexual-transsexual bills
Sacramento, California – Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed three bills squashing moral values and religious freedom. By elevating the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda above the rights of everyone else, Schwarzenegger has confirmed his legacy is being the most anti-family Republican governor in California history.
“There is no gay gene, but religious freedom is a God-given right enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. So it’s wrong and unfair to create new laws which make homosexual-bisexual-transsexual ‘rights’ superior to everyone else’s rights,” said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, a leading West Coast family issues organization.
“The words ‘discrimination,’ ‘harassment,’ and ‘tolerance’ have been redefined and are actually resulting in reverse discrimination and intolerance against people with moral values,” said Thomasson. “Under these new laws, foster parents, nurses, doctors, health insurance plans, city and county commissions, and court-appointed children’s advocates must abandon their moral, social or financial values at the alter of the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda. This crate load of homosexual-bisexual-transsexual laws embodies the same intolerant spirit of the recent California Supreme Court ruling that trampled the religious freedom of doctors at the behest of homosexual ‘rights.’”
Among the “LGBT” bills signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, after being approved by the Democrat-controlled Legislature, are:
• AB 3015 forces foster parents to train foster children to support homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality. The 2000 law upon which AB 3015 is based resulted in homosexual, bisexual and transsexual activism on school campuses from “LGBT” students and teachers. AB 3015 will do the same for foster children, many of whom have already been emotionally damaged by sexual abuse and neglect.
Under the new law, morally-minded foster parents will be trained to teach children in their homes what they themselves believe is a lie. In addition, the bill author says AB 3015 will “ensure that foster youth and their caregivers are knowledgeable about how to report” foster parents and public school teachers who cannot and will not support homosexuality, bisexuality or transsexuality. In other words, under AB 3015, positive and healthy pro-family values on sexual behavior and believing in natural gender can be reported as “harassment.”
AB 3015 is based on a 2000 law (AB 537), which, according to the Gay-Straight Alliance Network, broadly and subjectively defines harassment as “conduct based on protected status that is severe or pervasive, which unreasonably disrupts an individual’s educational or work environment or that creates a hostile educational or work environment.” Therefore, under AB 3015, foster parents who don’t allow homosexual, bisexual or transsexual sexual behavior in their own homes, and foster parents and public school teachers who speak against or have values that are perceived to be against homosexuality, bisexuality or transsexuality can be reported to the government to be disciplined or penalized. “The intolerant spirit of AB 3015 essentially means if you have traditional family values, you either need to shut up or stop being a teacher or a foster parent altogether,” said Thomasson.
AB 3015 was preceded in 2003 by AB 458, which set the stage for AB 3015 by requiring existing and prospective foster parents to be trained to support homosexual-bisexual-transsexual “rights.” AB 3015 passed the California Legislature with Democrats in support, Republicans opposed.
• SB 1729 mandates that nurses be trained to support homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality, despite their deeply-held moral values to the contrary. According to the final Senate floor analysis, SB 1729 “requires all registered nurses, certified nurse assistants, licensed vocational nurses, and physicians working in skilled nursing facilities or congregate living health facilities to participate in a training program focused on preventing and eliminating discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.” In other words, good professional nurses at convalescent homes and assisted-living centers could be disciplined or fired for not attending or not actively participating in these homosexual-bisexual-transsexual training classes, or if on the job they ever speak against homosexuality, bisexuality or transsexuality. SB 1729 passed the California Legislature with Democrats in support, Republicans opposed.
• AB 2654 elevates homosexual-bisexual-transsexual “rights” above moral, religious and family values in the private insurance field and government processes. AB 2654 is one of a package of five bills passed in the last five years by Democrat legislators and signed by Schwarzenegger that applies broad definitions of homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality to all other areas of the law. For example, in Government Code, Section 12926.1, “sexual orientation” is defined as including not just homosexuality but also bisexuality, and, because of Penal Code, Section 422.56, defines “sex” and “gender” as including “a person’s gender identity and gender related appearance and behavior whether or not stereotypically associated with the person’s assigned sex at birth.” As the Democratic Senate floor analysis of AB 2654 disclosed, “In doing so, this bill expands the protected classes in some statutes to encompass those recently added” [i.e. "sexual orientation" and "gender"]. This means AB 2654 essentially completes the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual takeover of government entities and imposes its sexual agenda more fully upon the private sector. AB 2654 passed the California Legislature with Democrats in support, Republicans opposed.
“AB 2654 imposes homosexual-bisexual-transsexual values upon insurance companies, health insurance plans, children’s court-appointed representatives, and city and county commissions,” said Thomasson. “By misusing the word ‘discrimination,’ AB 2654 essentially requires these entities to equate homosexual parents with the natural family, equate homosexual ‘marriage’ with real marriage, and regard homosexual, bisexual and transsexual behavior as good and natural. Especially alarming is how AB 2654 requires HMOs to support homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality at the same rate as much healthier lifestyles, thus raising the eventual cost of insurance for everyone else.”
Homosexual Assemblyman John Laird, a Santa Cruz Democrat, has imposed the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda in a multi-year package of bills, completed by AB 2654. His intolerant package of five bills requiring Californians to support homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality includes AB 14 in 2007, AB 2800 in 2006, AB 1400 in 2005, and AB 2900 in 2004. All five of these “LGBT” bills were passed by the Democrat-controlled Legislature and signed by Governor Schwarzenegger.
On Sept. 30, 2008, when the Governor issued his veto of AB 2567, which would have created an official “gay day” in public schools, it did not comfort parents and grandparents who are already deeply concerned about the school sexual indoctrination laws (SB 777 and AB 394) approved last year by Schwarzenegger and the Democrat-controlled California Legislature. The effect of these new laws is to positively promote homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality in all public school instructional materials, activities and programs.
